Relay for Life - June 9th

Relay For Life is a festival-like fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Our Hamilton event is 6 hours in length. Each team taking part is asked to have at least one member on the track at all times to symbolize the ongoing fight against cancer. On and off track, there is always something to do at Relay For Life. Those taking a break from walking can check out the entertainment and many activities, or relax at their team’s “campsite”.

This year the funds raised for Relay for Life Hamilton will go towards the Adult Stem Cell Transplant program at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. Team HMECU is holding a car wash at our Limeridge branch on Saturday, June 3rd with all proceeds going towards Relay for Life.

Relay for Life Car Wash Fundraiser - June 3rd

Join us at the Limeridge branch from 9:30am to 1:30pm to get your car washed and support Team HMECU in the Relay for Life! Only $10 per vehicle. All funds raised go towards Relay for Life which is supporting the Adult Stem Cell Transplant Program at the Juravinski Cancer Centre! See you there!

McMaster Kids Walk & Wheel - June 3rd

Childhood illness, accidents and disease can devastate young lives and families. McMaster Children’s Hospital was created to ensure that the children in south-central Ontario have access to world class staff, equipment, programs and research. When you participate in the MacKids Walk & Wheel for Miracles, you help bring hope and healing to the 600,000 children that live in our region. Every life is precious and every donation makes a difference. Your gift will create the spaces and provide the tools to help make miracles possible.

The event theme this year is SUPERHEROES! We look forward to seeing everyone out in their best superhero gear, in support of such a great cause.

SAGE Awards - June 1st

The Service Awards Geriatric Excellence (SAGE) is a joint initiative of the Regional Geriatric Program central (RGPc) and St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences.

The program was introduced in 2003 to formally recognize the outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations who demonstrate excellence in positively influencing the quality of life of seniors and to highlight geriatrics as a critical area of health care. These unsung heroes work tirelessly so that seniors can live with independence and dignity in their own homes or communities. They also provide the highest quality of care for older adults in hospital and long term care.

This unique program is the only one of its kind in Ontario to celebrate the professional excellence of individuals and organizations that provide health care and community services for seniors and their families.
