Managing My Money

You deserve the best advice when you're trying to figure out what to do with your hard earned money. Let's talk about some of the best options for you.

Savings Account

If you're just looking to deposit money to your account but don't necessarily want to use it right away, a savings account would be a good place to start.

A savings account earns "interest". What is interest? It is money given to you from the Credit Union based on the amount of money you have in your account.

This means that if you keep money in your account, you will be getting some money deposited to your account from the Credit Union - that's like free money!

Chequing Account

A chequing account is usually used for getting your pay deposited from your job. Once your money is deposited here, you can pay bills or use your Member Card® debit card for transactions at stores or ATM's. An HMECU chequing account doesn't earn any interest.
